it was a pre-booked course dinner @ crc a week ago. was told that newly wed: mr. shaun tan is visiting penang for his honeymoon & also to intro his beloved wife inari to the tan's families.
"hi, i'm shaun, nice meeting you"...
"hi, i'm kate, nice to meet you, congratulations!"
while waiting for other guests to arrive, shaun & inari decided to walk over to have a short chat so socialize with me & teddie. teddie got his tongue tied & showed them a shy look. & shaun mentioned that it has been apprx 20yrs since he last saw teddie, he was only 13 & teddie was only 9... & they had a cousin reunion then at Holiday Inn Hotel for a swim...haha... teddie replied with his smile, remained speechless... so without making the situation weird, i took the opportunity to self introduced myself & began to ask questions like....
"how many days have you been in pg? do you enjoy pg? which hotel are you staying? are the food good? where have you visited?".... and i also recommended a few heritage places for them to visit.
after the arrival of all guests, we started our course. it last for roughly 2hrs and we ended with photography session with the newly wed.

shaun brought some of his drawings with his signature & date on it, he gave to all the uncles & cousins as a token of appreciation to celebrate his "wedding" in penang. (how i wish i was one of the cousins too ~_~")

while everyone was chatting over the drawings with shaun, teddie's sister asked me to chat with inari & also to bring her around penang since it was still early. so i approached inari & continue to chat like an old friends. then i realised that she is a graphic designer & eddie joined the chat.
we picked them from evergreen hotel & brought them up to batu ferringhi for 'late nite street-stalls shopping", too bad it was already 11pm when we were up & most stalls were getting ready to pack up... but we have funny conversations & had fun browsing thru those lightings, batik, watches, dvds, deco accesories... haha... i guess that's the fun bit of exchanging ideas with the creative people. also discovered that shaun have worked with big boys such as dreamworks, disney, pixals on animation movies! He was part of the team to involve in Wall-E, Horton Hears A Who & etc....
we had a drink at coffee island at gurney drive after that till near 2am, chatting, catching up, sharing thoughts, exchanging ideas and ofcos took some photographs too!

it was our pleasures to have invited to shaun's wedding dinner as well as to have known shaun & inari today, and i must say they are very nice, polite, humour couple... i feel damn proud getting to know someone famous in person, the feeling is much better than watching faye wong or eason chan's live in concerts... hahaha....
we wish them well & enjoy their 1 month honeymoon in LA, Finland, Switzerland....;)
